Vamps, Vamps and More of ‘Em

Posted on: June 18th, 2010 by wmapother 7 Comments

Two more of my episodes on ‘I <3 Vampires’ are now online.  For the less devout among you, I play William, the leader of the vampire clan.  (I know, I know.)

The show was a blast to work on, and for my involvement I owe thanks to the lovely and talented Julie Restivo.  Merci, Julie.

The ep’s (‘William’s Lair’ and ‘Together Forever’) are here.

WARNING: WEATHER AHEAD

Posted on: June 13th, 2010 by wmapother 2 Comments

We’re holding the Flyover Film Festival at the Kentucky Center for the Arts, and it’s working out beautifully.
However, I was walking down the staircase Friday and saw this sign.  Hmmm.

Walked down a flight of stairs and saw another one just like it.  Wha?

I mean, I know people think things are slow in Kentucky, but lordy — is weather-watching now a group activity?  Kept going (because I missed my floor–that sign I missed) and finally saw this at the bottom:

Ahhh.  Just the Center helping keep heads cool during a Kentucky twister — like the one I survived on April 3, 1974, during the worst outbreak of tornadoes in American history.
But that’s another story.

Helpful Tip from an Airline

Here in Louisville for the Flyover Film Festival.  The photo at right was snapped by the director Allison Anders (of Ashland, KY), the recipient of our Lifetime Achievement Award, on her flight in from Los Angeles.

Are we getting dumber, or are they?

LA Film Festival

Posted on: June 10th, 2010 by wmapother 5 Comments

On Sat, June 26th, at this year’s LA Film Festival, I’ll be participating in and moderating this year’s Actors Coffee Talk.  The festival also holds them for screenwriters and directors, and they’re all very popular.  Past participants include Jodie Foster, Mark Ruffalo, Tim Roth, and Melissa Leo.  Yeah. : )

The other two participants with me this year are a pair of not-too-shabby actors, Shohreh Aghdashloo (House of Sand and Fog, 24…) and James Cromwell (Babe, 6 Ft Under…).  It should be a blast as I ask them all sorts of inappropriate and irrelevant questions.

The Hollywood Reporter’s piece is here, Variety’s here, and the LAFF’s page and ticket link is here (then go down to ‘C’ for ‘Coffee Talk: Actors’ on June 26th at 1pm).
