In KY but Not

Posted on: December 9th, 2011 by wmapother No Comments

Last night I wrapped an episode of the fantastic FX show Justified.  If you haven’t seen the show, it’s really worth checking out.  It’s dramatic and very funny and full of great actors bringing to life a wide assortment of fascinating character.  Big bonus:  It’s set in my home state of Kentucky.

Tim Olyphant is tremendous in the lead.  He has this whole Henry Fonda My Darling Clementine thing going on, which is no small compliment.  (That movie is definitely working checking out, too.)

The 3rd season starts January, and 1&2 are on Netflix.  I’m guessin’ my ep will air sometime in late Jan or early Feb.

The National Board of Review has named Another Earth one of the top ten 10 independent films of 2011.  Alongside indies such as Take Shelter, Win Win, and Beginners, among others, we’re in very good company.

A huge thank-you to the filmmakers and Fox Searchlight for making it all happen!

Xmas Gift? Done.

Another Earth comes out on DVD today, and it’s the perfect gift for the humanoid in your family.  Or even your other you.  Get it now, before you go ahead and buy it for yourself and then have to regift it back to yourself (this whole “There’s two of me/you” gets old and/or  confusing pretty quickly when mined for laughs..)

Horror on the Horizon

Earlier this year I shot a part in the 3D film Static, starring Milo Ventimiglia, Sarah Shahi, and Sara Paxton.  No word yet on the release date, but over to the right’s an early one-sheet, and here’s a little press piece on the movie..

I’ve seen it listed as both horror or thriller?  At a certain point, does it matter?  Hiller or throrror:  Sleepless nights, here I come.
