Gutentag!

Posted on: April 14th, 2010 by wmapother 2 Comments

Word has reached me from across the great sea that on April 22, ‘The Burrowers‘ will be released on DVD in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

In case you’re reading this in Germany, please drop everything immediately.  Put your life on hold and go demand to your local video store that they offer multiple copies of ‘The Burrowers.’  They won’t know of what to which you refer, of course, so repeat yourself, calmly, and for “Burrowers” just substitute “Das Böse unter der Erde.”

They’ll nod and agree and make the order into the computer, and then you can go enjoy a streudel and beer together.

Horror-westerns.  Bringing the world together.

PSAs Redux on Elder Abuse Awareness

Posted on: April 11th, 2010 by wmapother 2 Comments

Some of you may recall that I’m a spokesperson for the cause of Elder Abuse awareness.

This piece from the DOJ site helps explain why this issue needs to be addressed as quickly as possible:

In the United States, the issue of elder mistreatment is garnering the attention of the law enforcement, medical, and research communities as more people are living longer than ever before. This trend is expected to increase, as the U.S. Census Bureau projects that more than 62 million Americans will be age 65 or older in 2025, an increase of 78 percent from 2001, and more than 7.4 million will be age 85 or older, an increase of nearly 68 percent from 2001.[1] This aging population will require more care and protection than is currently available or possible.”

For help and information, please visit the Natl Center on Elder Abuse Awareness, at www.ncea.aoa.gov/.

Finally, I just learned from the NCEA that the PSA’s I shot for which played in a number of movie theatres last summer will also run this year, from late May to late June.  My original post on them is here

The Vamping Vamp

Posted on: March 24th, 2010 by wmapother 2 Comments

Even a bloodsucker needs a little love.  Here’s a pic from the ep I shot last week of the web series “I heart vampires.”  My right fang is just half-visible behind the mirror.  The make-up artist slathered the fang glue, then asked me to hold it in place for about five minutes (While I slurringly asked her about eight times if she was sure it would come off.  It did, thank god.)
It’s called “Nick: Into the Darkness,” ep 4, and I’ve been told it should be up in the couple weeks.

Me as Me

Posted on: March 20th, 2010 by wmapother 4 Comments

Humans of the world, doubt the future of web TV no longer:  I just shot my first ep of a web series.  It’s called I <3 Vampires (‘I heart vampires, for those of you over the age of 12), and its home page is here.

My character, with the most exceptional name of William,  is the leader of a vampire clan and has been around on the earth a heckuva lot longer than I have.  His primary purpose:  Get the newly vamped Nick to act as a spokeperson for the woefully misunderstood and poorly-p.r.’d vampire contingent.

The ep should be posted in the next couple weeks, and hopefully I’ll have stills from the shoot, white make-up and all.

AOL TV

A new video interview with me about Lost and All Things Ethan has been posted on AOL TV here.  I was grilled by the very funny Maggie Furlong, a Lost fanatic if I’ve ever seen one.  Which I have.  Believe me.  Not, of course, that there’s anything wrong with that.
