Crazy Love from Louisville Media

Posted on: June 10th, 2011 by wmapother 2 Comments

The Flyover Film Festival kicks off tonight with Another Earth and my Q&A after, and the Louisville media has been absolutely fantastic in helping promote both the screening and the festival overall.  Both WAVE & WBKI hosted me on TV this morning, and I’ll be on Terry Meiners‘ show this afternoon.

Among the other lovers:
LeoWeekly
The Courier-Journal
Loueyville.blogspot.com
St. Xavier HS
Friend of Lou
Fox 41

Looking forward to a fun weekend, and a great festival!

Flyover!

Posted on: May 25th, 2011 by wmapother 5 Comments

A few years ago some friends and I started Flyover Film Festival in Louisville, KY, and the third annual one is coming up this June 10-12.

Ryan Daly, our festival director, has assembled a fantastic line-up for this year.  The details are here.

And Another Earth (trailer here), which doesn’t open in NY & LA until July 22 (the release after that is still t.b.d.), is opening the festival.  It plays at 7pm on Friday, June 10, at the KY Center for the Arts.

This may be the only chance to see it in Louisville on the big screen.  I’m just sayin’..

Interview for Flyover Film Festival

Posted on: May 12th, 2011 by wmapother 4 Comments

It’s that time of year again:  Louisville Flyover Film Festival is set for June 10-12.  In anticipation of it, I did an interview about the festival and Another Earth, which is playing at the festival, on Louisville.com.  The link is here.

KY’s Civil Importance

Posted on: May 9th, 2011 by wmapother 3 Comments

(Okay, so I’ve been a bit absent lately.  I’m putting more of my updates on Twitter and Facebook these days..)

In honor of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, the NYT has been running a wonderful series of articles on the war called ‘Disunion.’  It’s here.

On Derby Day, appropriately enough, the piece was on Kentucky and its importance to both sides.  It’s fascinating, I think, and can be found here.

Q&A with KY Film Commission

The Kentucky Film Commission, which I was appointed to in 2009, has just sent out their first newsletter.  Congratulations!  There’s a brief Q&A with me here.
